Job Title: Azure Cloud SME

Location: Remote -- INDIA

Employment Type: Contract

Pay Range: INR 2000/hr - INR 3000/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to serve as a technical subject matter expert and trusted advisor across cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure services and a proven track record of delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. This role collaborates with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to drive our SaaS product adoption, deployments, and support.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Design

- Design and architect enterprise-grade Azure solutions aligned with business objectives, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Lead the development of cloud reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails for the organization.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure services, tools, and third-party integrations to optimize performance and cost.

Technical Leadership & Advisory





- Serve as the primary technical authority on Azure for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide hands-on guidance, code reviews, and architectural oversight to development and DevOps teams.
- Work with the existing automation team to share knowledge, develop best practices, and increase team efficacy.

Operations, Security & Governance

- Establish and enforce Azure governance frameworks including policies, RBAC, tagging strategies, and landing zones.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement zero-trust architectures, identity management, and compliance controls.
- Define and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and cloud cost optimization strategies using tools such as Azure Cost Management.
- Champion infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using Terraform.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Deep expertise across core Azure services including Compute (VMs, AKS, App Service), Networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall), Storage, and Databases.
- Strong experience with Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, identity federation, and Conditional Access.
- Proficiency in Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles, RBAC, Azure Policy, and Defender for Cloud.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.

- Microsoft Azure certifications (one or more preferred):




- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
- Background in FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization.
- Experience working in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government) with compliance requirements such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or ISO27001.
