The Safety Officer/Safety Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring site safety practices, ensuring statutory compliance, conducting safety inspections, mitigating workplace hazards, and fostering a solid safety culture across Heavy Industries projects such as steel plants, power plants, cement plants, industrial facilities, and EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management
- Implement company HSE policies and procedures at project sites.
- Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and client safety requirements.
- Monitor day-to-day site safety activities.
- Promote safety awareness among employees and subcontractors.
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
- Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments.
- Recommend preventive and corrective measures.
- Track closure of identified safety observations.
Site Safety Monitoring
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.

- Electrical Works
- Heavy Equipment Operations
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events.
- Prepare incident investigation reports.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain incident statistics and safety records.
Safety Training & Awareness
- Conduct induction training programs.
- Organize toolbox talks and safety campaigns.
- Deliver safety awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Monitor safety competency requirements.
Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct mock drills and emergency exercises.
- Ensure availability of emergency response equipment.
- Coordinate emergency response activities at site.
Safety Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain HSE records and statutory registers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Track safety KPIs and compliance metrics.
- Support external and internal HSE audits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Engineering or Any graduation.
