Job Description: Tally Implementation, Training & e-Invoicing Specialist
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Tally Implementation, Training & e-Invoicing Specialist with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience. In this functional-technical role, the candidate will lead software deployment, system setup, data migration, and e-invoicing integration while actively training team members/clients to optimize their use of Tally Prime.

Key Responsibilities
- Software Implementation & Setup:
Configure and set up Tally Prime (or Tally ERP 9) from scratch based on company or client requirements.
Customize the Chart of Accounts, ledgers, cost centers, godowns, and inventory structures.
Manage legacy data migration (importing historical data, trial balances, and master entries from Excel or old accounting systems into Tally).
- e-Invoicing Setup & Management:
Configure, test, and maintain seamless e-invoicing workflows within Tally Prime. Ensure direct generation of Invoice Reference Numbers (IRN), QR codes, and compliant digital invoices.
Perform bulk e-invoice generation and sync transactions accurately with tax registers. Maintain master data hygiene (e.g., proper Tax Registration Numbers, HSN/SAC codes, and tax categories) across all ledger profiles.
Monitor e-invoicing dashboards, handle cancellations, and resolve system rejections, schema errors, or API sync issues.
- Training & Capability Building:
Design, organize, and conduct structured training sessions (one-on-one or group) for accounting staff, billing operators, and inventory teams.
Prepare user manuals, step-by-step documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quick-reference guides.
Train staff on specific modules: Purchase/Sales Orders, Payroll, Inventory Tracking, Bank Reconciliations,
e-Invoicing, and Tax Returns.
- Process Optimization & Support:
Evaluate current accounting workflows and adapt Tally Prime features (voucher types, security controls, user roles) to improve operational efficiency.
Act as the bridge between management and Tally technical partners for custom TDL
(Tally Definition Language) requirements or third-party integrations (e.g., CRM, e commerce, or payroll).
Provide ongoing technical support, perform periodic data audits, manage backup procedures, and handle year-end data splitting.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience:
2 to 3 years of experience in Tally Prime implementation, end-user training, and day-to day administration.
Proven hands-on experience setting up, processing, and troubleshooting e-invoicing in Tally Prime.
- Technical Skills:
Advanced mastery of Tally Prime features (Inventory, Order Management, Payroll, Security, e-Invoicing/API integrations).
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (Data formatting, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables for bulk imports).
Understanding of local statutory tax rules and e-invoicing portal mechanics (IRN/QR code generation, JSON/XML error handling).
- Soft Skills:
Exceptional patience, presentation, and teaching skills.
Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Clear oral and written communication skills to simplify technical processes for non technical users.
