We are looking for a Senior Solar Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Solar PV design and engineering. The candidate should have strong experience in large-scale ground-mounted solar projects and be capable of independently handling complete design activities.
Role & responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of utility-scale Solar PV projects.
- Prepare and review PV layouts, module/stringing layouts and inverter layouts.
- Develop DC/AC electrical designs, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and cable routing.
- Prepare SLDs, equipment layouts, cable schedules and electrical drawings.
- Perform PVsyst simulations, generation analysis and energy yield calculations.
- Prepare and review BOQ/BOM and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, SCADA and electrical teams for complete plant design integration.
- Review designs for compliance with IS/IEC standards, project specifications and client requirements.
- Handle client/consultant technical comments, design revisions and approvals.
- Review and guide junior design engineers and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
- Support technical discussions, design optimization and project execution.
Preferred candidate profile
- 5+ years of experience in Solar PV Design & Engineering.
- Robust proficiency in AutoCAD and PVsyst.
- Strong knowledge of DC/AC systems, HT/LT systems, inverters, transformers, cables and protection systems.
- Experience in utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
- Good understanding of electrical SLDs, plant layouts and design calculations.
- Knowledge of applicable IS/IEC standards and grid requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination and team-management skills.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Preferred: Experience in large-scale solar projects, BESS integration and international projects.
