Job Title: Financial Analyst Mutual Fund Research & Investment Insights

Job Summary:
We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical and investment-oriented, rather than someone who only prepares financial reports, with 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, investment research, mutual funds, asset management, or a related field.
The primary responsibility will be to research and analyze The mutual funds and the broader mutual fund market, identify performance and investment trends, and convert the analysis into transparent, meaningful insights for management and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with financial data and, more importantly, should be able to explain what the data means, why a trend is occurring, and what factors are driving the change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze the mutual funds across equity, debt, hybrid and other fund categories.
- Track fund performance on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Analyze:
- NAV and historical returns
- AUM growth/decline
- Investor inflows and outflows
- Portfolio composition
- Asset allocation
- Sector and stock exposure
- Benchmark performance
- Expense ratio
- Risk and volatility
- Fund manager and strategy changes
- Compare The funds with appropriate peer funds and market benchmarks.
- Identify significant performance trends, changes and anomalies.
- Research the reasons behind fund outperformance or underperformance.
- Analyze how market movements, interest rates,
economic conditions and sector trends may affect fund performance.
- Monitor changes in portfolio holdings and identify significant increases or reductions in exposure.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly mutual fund performance reports and dashboards.
- Develop historical trend analysis to identify recurring patterns and emerging opportunities or risks.
- Present key findings to management in a simple and easy-to-understand format.
- Perform ad-hoc investment and market research as required.
- Validate information from multiple financial data sources and ensure the accuracy of analysis.

The analyst should be able to go beyond reporting numbers.
Basic analysis:
The Fund returned 14% compared with the benchmark return of 11%.
Expected insight:
The fund outperformed the benchmark by 3 percentage points, primarily driven by its allocation to financial services and selected large-cap holdings. The analyst should further assess whether the outperformance is attributable to sustainable stock selection, sector allocation or broader market movement.
The role therefore requires the ability to identify the trend investigate the reason interpret the impact communicate the insight.

Required Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, investment research, mutual funds, asset management, equity research or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mutual funds and capital markets.
- Good knowledge of investment and financial concepts.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- INDEX/MATCH
- Charts and dashboards
- Data cleaning and analysis
- Ability to work with large financial datasets.
- Strong ability to identify trends and explain the underlying drivers.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convert complex financial information into concise management-level insights.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Commerce, Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
