Job Description: Senior Drupal Engineer (Drupal Commerce + CI/CD Pipeline Owner)

We are hiring a hands-on Senior Drupal Engineer to lead feature development and pipeline reliability for a large multi-site Drupal platform running on Acquia Cloud Site Factory (ACSF). This role combines strong application engineering (Drupal 10, Commerce, integrations) with DevOps ownership (Bitbucket Pipelines, test automation, release orchestration across environments).

Role Summary
You will build and maintain custom Drupal functionality, improve release safety, and own the end-to-end deployment workflow from pull request checks through production rollout. You should be equally comfortable writing robust PHP code and diagnosing pipeline or environment failures under release pressure.

What Youll Work On

1. Develop and maintain Drupal 10 features for a multi-site enterprise platform with shared profile architecture.
2. Build and support commerce-related capabilities (catalog, checkout flows, payment integrations, wishlist, pricing behavior).
3. Own complex configuration workflows using config split, site-specific packages, and environment-aware settings.
4. Maintain and improve a heavily automated Bitbucket pipeline that includes artifact builds, parallelized test execution, and staged environment deployments.
5. Manage deployment automation scripts for ACSF operations: domain discovery, backups, code updates, post-deploy updates, and cache invalidation.
6. Improve reliability and performance of CI jobs involving Apache, MySQL, Chrome WebDriver, and PHPUnit suites split across multiple batches.
7. Maintain Composer dependency hygiene, patch governance,



and upgrade strategy across Drupal core and contributed modules.
8. Partner with QA and product teams to improve test coverage and reduce release risk.
9. Support critical integrations such as SSO/SAML, search, DAM, and analytics/tagging where needed.

Required Qualifications

1. 6+ years of PHP engineering experience, with deep Drupal experience (Drupal 9/10).
2. Strong experience with Drupal Commerce in production.
3. Proven ownership of CI/CD pipelines in Bitbucket or similar systems.
4. Expert-level Composer usage, including dependency conflict resolution and patch-based workflows.
5. Robust Linux shell scripting and troubleshooting in containerized CI environments.
6. Experience with automated test execution and debugging in PHPUnit-based pipelines.
7. Solid understanding of Drupal configuration management, multisite patterns, and release workflows.
8. Experience with MySQL and Apache in application and CI contexts.
9. Ability to lead production releases and incident response with clear communication.

Required Qualifications

1. Experience with Acquia Cloud and ACSF operations.
2. Familiarity with Acquia CLI tooling and enterprise Drupal hosting patterns.
3. Site Studio (Cohesion) experience, including package export/import strategies.
4. Experience with SimpleSAMLphp and enterprise SSO patterns.
5. Experience with Fastly/Varnish cache strategy and invalidation.
6. Exposure to Solr/SearchStax, DAM, and marketing integrations.
7. Prior work on high-module-count Drupal platforms and custom distribution/profile-based codebases.
8. Experience working with MEO Platform. A product of ACQUIA.
