Role Purpose :

The CMDB / CSDM Architect is responsible for the technical integrity, design, and governance of the ServiceNow CMDB , ensuring accurate, scalable, and business-aligned configuration data. This role drives CSDM adoption , enforces ITIL v4 best practices , and partners across infrastructure, application, and business teams to enable operational stability, impact awareness, and trusted reporting.

This is a hands - on technical role -owning architecture decisions, complex integrations, data quality, and platform standards.

Key Responsibilities :

CMDB Architecture & CSDM - Own the end - to - end CMDB technical architecture within ServiceNow

- Define CI class usage, relationships, and lifecycle standards
- Serve as the technical authority for CMDB and service modeling decisions
- Document CMDB architecture processes and procedures

Technical Implementation & Enablement :

Configure and optimize CMDB capabilities including:

- CI Classes & Relationships
- Identification & Reconciliation Rules
- Discovery, Service Mapping, and Integration Hub data sources
- Data normalization and reconciliation pipelines
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and vendor teams to ensure accurate CI onboarding
- Support complex integrations feeding the CMDB (cloud, vendors, SaaS, on-prem)

Data Quality, Governance & Risk Reduction :

- Define and enforce CMDB data quality standards (completeness, accuracy, timeliness)
- Implement health dashboards, audits, and remediation processes
- Drive reduction of manual CI maintenance through automation and discovery
- Ensure CMDB supports incident, problem, change, and outage impact analysis




- Translate technical CMDB concepts into business and operational outcomes
- Influence platform roadmap and platform technical standards

Required Qualifications

ServiceNow & CMDB Expertise

- 5-7+ years in ServiceNow platform roles , with deep CMDB focus
- Proven expertise implementing CSDM in real production environments
- Strong understanding of ITIL v4 practices and service lifecycle alignment

Preferred Certifications

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB / CSDM or Discovery

Experience with:

- ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping
- CMDB Health, IRE, and reconciliation rules
- CI relationship modeling across infra, apps, and business services
- Third party integration tools (Qualys, SCCM, Solarwinds, etc)

Technical & Architectural Skills

- Robust data modeling and relational design skills
- Experience integrating external data sources into CMDB
- Ability to troubleshoot complex CI data issues and reconcile conflicting sources
- Comfortable reviewing and influencing platform performance, scalability, and maintainability
