Role & responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, roadmap, and transformation initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Lead day-to-day IT operations across infrastructure, applications, cloud, networks, cybersecurity, service management, and end-user computing.
- Manage and optimize enterprise IT environments to ensure availability, reliability, security, scalability, and performance.
- Lead IT modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, application modernization, automation, digital transformation, and technology upgrades.
- Establish and maintain IT governance, policies, standards, processes, and operational controls.
- Oversee IT Service Management (ITSM) processes including incident, problem, change, request, configuration, and service-level management.
- Define and monitor IT KPIs, SLAs, operational metrics, service quality, and technology performance.
- Lead major technology projects and programs, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, budget, timelines, and quality standards.
- Manage IT budgets, resource allocation, technology investments, licensing, and cost-optimization initiatives.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, system integrators, managed service providers, and strategic partners.
- Establish and maintain business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and IT resilience strategies.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure appropriate security, identity, access, vulnerability, compliance, and risk-management controls.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency, business agility, and customer experience.
- Lead and mentor IT teams across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, cloud, security, and other technology functions.
- Establish talent-development, performance-management, succession-planning, and hiring strategies for the IT organization.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand technology requirements and translate them into practical IT solutions.
- Provide regular technology, operational, financial, risk, and project updates to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, standardization, and operational excellence across the IT organization.
- Ensure IT operations comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, audit standards, and industry best practices.
Preferred candidate profile
- 7 to 12 years of experience in IT, with progressive responsibility across IT operations, infrastructure, applications, service management, cloud, or technology delivery.
- Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments and cross-functional technology teams.
- Strong understanding of IT strategy, IT governance, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, applications, and IT service management.
- Experience leading digital transformation, cloud migration, application modernization, automation,
or enterprise technology programs.
- Robust knowledge of ITIL/ITSM, including Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, Configuration, and Service Level Management.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity, IAM, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and IT risk management.
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, contracts, licenses, SLAs, and technology costs.
- Strong project/program management capabilities with experience using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and modern technology practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, mentor, and retain high-performing technology teams.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to communicate complex technology issues to business leaders and C-level executives.
- Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to connect IT investments and initiatives with business outcomes, operational efficiency, revenue, and customer experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline; MCA, M.Tech, MBA, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Certifications such as ITIL 4, PMP, PRINCE2, AWS/Azure, CISSP/CISM, COBIT, or ServiceNow are preferred depending on the organization's requirements.
