The Network Operations Engineer will provide Tier 1 network operations support during off-hours, monitoring network health, responding to alerts and incidents, and resolving standard issues using documented runbooks. The role will work as a dedicated remote resource, participate in daily standups, and complete onboarding during standard CST business hours before transitioning to the off-hours schedule.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide first-line (Tier 1) network operations support during the off-hours window.
- Monitor network health, triage alerts and incidents, and resolve standard issues using documented runbooks.
- Execute engineer-approved change controls, including configuration changes to switches, wireless, and firewalls.
- Support hardware lifecycle activities, including patching, refresh, and equipment replacement.
- Serve as the remote escalation and support contact for site hands performing physical equipment replacements.
- Escalate complex issues to the Network Engineering team with clear documentation.
- Maintain accurate incident records, change documentation, troubleshooting notes, and handover updates.
- Follow established operational processes, change management procedures, and network runbooks.
- Participate in daily standups and collaborate with the Network Engineering team as required.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science,



Information Technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on configuration experience with enterprise switches, wireless, and firewalls such as Aruba/ClearPass, Juniper/Cisco, Palo Alto, or comparable technologies.
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless.
- Experience executing change controls within a structured change management process.
- Hands-on experience making live changes to network equipment in a production environment.
- Comfortable working independently during off-hours.
- Strong documentation skills, including incident records, change documentation, troubleshooting notes, and handover updates.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
