About this role

We are looking for a Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Technical Consultant who is equally comfortable in Visual Studio and in front of a client. You will own the technical delivery of D365 F&O; extensions, data migrations, and integrations across implementation and modernization projects and you will be the day-to-day technical voice to the client, running the daily cadence, driving blockers to closure, and translating technical detail into language business stakeholders can act on.

This is a client-facing role. Solid engineering skills are the entry requirement; the differentiator is the ability to lead a conversation, hold a commitment, and keep a client confident in the delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

- Design, develop, and unit test extensions to D365 F&O; using X++, the extension framework, Chain of Command, and event handlers no over-layering, no upgrade-blocking customization.
- Build and maintain integrations using the Data Management Framework, OData, custom services, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
- Deliver data migration: source profiling, mapping, staging, DMF entity development, load sequencing, reconciliation, and cutover dry runs.
- Develop and extend SSRS reports; support Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting where F&O; data is surfaced via Synapse Link / OneLake.
- Manage environments, builds, and releases through LCS and Azure DevOps pipelines; maintain branching, code review, and deployment discipline.
- Troubleshoot performance issues (SQL, indexing, batch, integration throughput) and produce root-cause analysis, not just workarounds.
- Uphold One Version upgrade readiness: assess regression impact, run and remediate against release waves, and keep customizations upgrade-safe.




- Produce and maintain technical design documents, integration specifications, and hand-over documentation to a client-ready standard.

Client Communication & Cadence Leadership

- Run the daily cadence/stand-up with the client: agenda, progress against plan, blockers, decisions needed, and clear owners and dates.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned workstreams; answer client questions directly and credibly without escalating every item.
- Facilitate requirement and design walkthroughs with functional consultants and business stakeholders; challenge requirements where a standard feature beats a build.
- Maintain and publish the action, decision, and risk log; chase items to closure rather than reporting the same blocker twice.
- Give status honestly and early. Flag slippage, scope creep, and risk before it becomes a surprise.
- Support UAT: triage defects, agree severity with the client, communicate fix timelines, and drive sign-off.
- Contribute to go-live and hypercare: cutover task ownership, on-call support windows, and post-go-live issue communication.

Team & Practice

- Mentor junior developers through code review and pairing.
- Contribute reusable assets, patterns, and accelerators back to the practice.
- Support estimation and solution shaping for new opportunities in your technical area

Technical Skills Required





- 4-6 years of hands-on Dynamics 365 F&O; (or AX 2012 with demonstrated migration to D365 F&O;) technical experience.
- Strong X++ development skills, including the extension model, Chain of Command, event handlers, and the D365 F&O; data model (Finance, Supply Chain, or both).
- Demonstrated integration experience with at least two of: DMF, OData, custom services, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus.
- Solid T-SQL and data modelling ability; comfortable investigating data issues independently.
- Practical experience with LCS, Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines, work items), and structured release management.
- Minimum two full-lifecycle implementations taken through to go-live in a technical role.
- Proven client-facing experience: has independently run recurring client meetings and owned communication for a workstream.
- Excellent written and verbal English; able to write a clear status update and a clean design document.

Preferred Skills

- Microsoft certifications: MB-500 (F&O; Developer), MB-300, or Azure fundamentals/integration certifications.
- Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Dataverse dual-write.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, and semantic model design for D365 reporting modernization.
- EDI, 3PL / WMS, banking, payment gateway, or e-commerce (Shopify) integration experience.
- Manufacturing, distribution, or multi-company / multi-entity rollout experience.
- Familiarity with Success by Design and Microsoft implementation guidance.
- Consulting or partner-side delivery background.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
