Ltd. is a Pune-based Indo-French joint venture focused on the manufacturing of high-performance rubber components and sealing solutions for demanding aerospace and industrial applications. The company operates in the precision rubber manufacturing sector, where product reliability, traceability, process control, customer compliance, and zero-defect quality are critical. The quality manager will play a key role in establishing and strengthening quality systems suitable for aerospace rubber components and other specialized rubber products.

Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing and implementing the organization's Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems to ensure that Stacwell Rubber Pvt. Ltd. products consistently meet customer specifications, aerospace requirements, international standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality objectives. The role covers QMS implementation, incoming/in-process/final inspection, process control, customer complaints, audits, supplier quality, laboratory/testing coordination, CAPA, continuous improvement, traceability, documentation, and quality team management.
The position is particularly important for aerospace rubber manufacturing, where strict material identification, batch traceability, contamination control, process validation, product qualification, inspection records, and customer-specific requirements must be maintained throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management System (QMS)
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with applicable AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 (where applicable), customer-specific requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain quality manuals, procedures, SOPs, work instructions, forms, and controlled documents.
- Ensure process standardization and effective document/change control across departments.
- Establish measurable quality objectives and monitor QMS performance.
Incoming, In-Process & Final Quality Control
- Monitor incoming raw materials, compounds, bought-out items, and components through defined inspection plans.
- Control in-process inspection and final product inspection as per drawings, specifications, control plans, and customer standards.
- Establish appropriate quality checkpoints and process monitoring systems.
- Ensure identification and traceability of raw materials, batches, molds/tools, processes, inspection results, and finished products.
- Control non-conforming products through segregation, disposition, rework/rejection approval, and documented release.
Customer Quality Management
- Handle customer complaints, quality incidents, returns, and corrective actions.
- Lead root-cause analysis and prepare 8D/CAPA responses within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate customer audits, inspections, quality meetings, and technical discussions.
- Prepare and submit customer quality reports and maintain customer-specific quality requirements.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, complaint trends, PPM, rejection, and delivery-related quality performance.
Audit Management
- Plan and conduct internal, process, product, and supplier audits.
- Coordinate third-party, certification, customer, and aerospace-related audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations, findings, NCRs, and corrective actions.
- Maintain audit schedules, evidence, records, and compliance documentation.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce rejection, rework, scrap, customer complaints, and process variation.
- Apply 8D, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Fishbone, 5 Why, Pareto analysis, and other appropriate quality tools.
- Drive Kaizen, defect-prevention, mistake-proofing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Improve process capability and establish preventive controls for recurring defects.
Supplier Quality Management
- Evaluate, approve, and monitor supplier quality performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and quality assessments where required.
- Ensure incoming material and supplier documentation meet specified requirements.
- Coordinate supplier corrective actions and monitor closure effectiveness.
Laboratory & Testing Coordination
- Coordinate material testing, product validation, qualification testing, and routine laboratory activities.
- Ensure rubber compound and finished-product testing is performed as per approved specifications and standards.
- Review test reports and ensure proper retention, traceability, and approval of quality records.
- Coordinate with internal/external laboratories for specialized aerospace or customer-required testing.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain quality records, inspection records, calibration records, traceability records, and controlled documentation.
- Prepare quality dashboards, rejection analysis, CAPA reports, PPAP documentation, FAI reports, and inspection reports.
- Ensure complete and accurate traceability from raw material through manufacturing, inspection, release, and dispatch.
- Monitor calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
Team Management & Training
- Manage quality inspectors, quality engineers, laboratory staff, and other quality personnel.
- Define responsibilities, competency requirements, training plans, and performance expectations.
- Conduct quality awareness and technical training for production and support teams.
- Build a strong quality culture focused on defect prevention and customer satisfaction.
Production Quality Support
- Work closely with Production, PPC, Maintenance, Stores, NPD, SCM, and other functions to resolve quality issues.
- Approve production setups, inspection methods, process parameters, and quality checkpoints as applicable.
- Support new product development, process validation, trials, first-off approvals, and product qualification.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production and before product release.
Safety, 5S & Compliance
- Support compliance with EHS requirements and workplace safety practices.
- Maintain 5S, good manufacturing practices, housekeeping, and contamination-control practices in quality and production areas.
- Promote safe handling, storage, identification, and control of rubber materials, chemicals, and testing equipment.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of rubber manufacturing processes, including rubber compounding, molding/vulcanization, finishing, inspection, and testing.
- Understanding of aerospace rubber components, sealing systems, elastomer products, and customer qualification requirements.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, process validation, inspection systems, statistical techniques, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, control plans, and customer requirements.
- Practical knowledge of aerospace quality documentation, traceability, FAI, PPAP, CAPA, and audit requirements.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer/Rubber Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Preferred certifications: Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, AS9100 Internal/External Auditor, IATF Core Tools, or equivalent quality certifications.
Experience Required
- Quality Manager: 8–13 years of relevant experience in rubber manufacturing, aerospace rubber components, precision components, automotive rubber, or a similar regulated manufacturing workplace.
- Assistant Quality Manager: 5–8 years of relevant quality management experience.
- Experience in aerospace rubber, sealing systems, elastomer products, or highly regulated manufacturing will be strongly preferred.

- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and applicable aerospace customer requirements.
- Maintain strict material, batch, process, inspection, and product traceability.
- Support PPAP, FAI, validation, qualification, and first-article requirements as applicable.
- Maintain aerospace documentation, inspection records, quality approvals, and customer-specific records.
- Ensure contamination-controlled and disciplined manufacturing practices suitable for aerospace rubber components.
- Coordinate aerospace customer audits, product qualification activities, and corrective actions.
- Drive a zero-defect and defect-prevention culture across the Stacwell manufacturing facility.
