Reports To: Director/ Production Manager

Job Purpose:

To plan, organize, and control production activities in the welded lifting chain manufacturing factory, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to safety and process standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

Prepare and execute daily/weekly production schedules to meet delivery targets.

Monitor workflow across welding, calibration, heat treatment, proof load testing, and finishing sections.

Coordinate with stores and purchase teams to ensure availability of raw material and consumables.

2. Operations Management

Supervise shift-wise production activities and allocate manpower effectively.

Ensure machines (welding machines, furnaces, calibration rigs, proof load testing machines) are running at optimum capacity.





Minimize downtime by coordinating with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

3. Quality & Process Control

Ensure chains meet required strength, hardness, dimensional accuracy, and finish.

Maintain strict adherence to quality standards (IS, EN, ASTM, BIS, etc.).

Support QC team in proof load testing, NDT, and inspections.

Monitor process parameters and ensure corrective actions for defects or rejections.

4. Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety protocols in welding, furnaces, and material handling areas.

Train workers on secure practices and use of PPE.

Ensure compliance with statutory norms under Factories Act, labor laws, and pollution control.

5. Team Management

Supervise supervisors, welders, furnace operators, and production workers.

Conduct on-the-job training for skill development.

Motivate teams to achieve productivity and quality targets.

6. Reporting & Coordination

Prepare daily production and rejection reports.

Monitor and control production costs raw material consumption, electricity, and consumables.

Liaise with QA, Purchase, and Dispatch departments for smooth operations.Role & responsibilities
