Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Windows Server Administrator to manage, optimize, and support enterprise-grade Windows infrastructure across global environments. The role requires deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, infrastructure operations, and data center fundamentals, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and performance.

This position operates within a global IT support model, providing L3 support, driving operational excellence, and supporting modernization initiatives including cloud readiness and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Server & Infrastructure Management

- Administer and support Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and later versions across distributed environments
- Manage Windows Server roles and features, including file/print services and system services
- Perform server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management (physical and virtual)
- Manage RDP and remote server administration activities

Active Directory & Identity Management

- Administer Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) environments
- Manage users, groups, OUs, and delegation models
- Design and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security and performance optimization
- Maintain NTFS and share permissions, ensuring strong access control design

Core Infrastructure Services

- Manage and troubleshoot:
- DNS, DHCP, NTP, and Certificate Services
- Windows services, registry, scheduled tasks, local security policies





- Perform advanced troubleshooting using Event Viewer and log analysis techniques

Virtualization & Data Center Operations

- Administer and manage VMware / virtualization platforms
- Handle VM provisioning, cloning, and automation workflows
- Support physical server provisioning and OS deployment

Hardware & System-Level Expertise

- Utilize hardware management tools:
- HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC, Lenovo XClarity

- Perform:

- BIOS/firmware checks and updates
- RAID/storage controller configuration basics
- NIC teaming and hardware-level troubleshooting

- Understand rack/stack operations and datacenter best practices

High Availability & Performance Optimization

- Implement and manage Windows Failover Clustering
- Perform performance tuning and system resource optimization
- Troubleshoot system issues including CPU, memory, disk, and network bottlenecks

Networking & Infrastructure Fundamentals

- Apply core networking principles (IP addressing, DNS resolution, connectivity troubleshooting)
- Collaborate with network teams for infrastructure issue resolution

Backup, DR, and Compliance

- Design and support backup and recovery solutions
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and testing




- Ensure adherence to enterprise security, audit, and compliance standards

Monitoring, Automation & Operations

- Work with monitoring tools like:
- SCOM, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or equivalent

- Ensure proactive alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Drive automation using scripting (PowerShell preferred)
- Support ITIL processes: incident, problem, change management

Cloud & Modernization

- Contribute to cloud readiness initiatives (Azure exposure preferred)
- Support hybrid infrastructure models and migration readiness

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 812+ years of relevant experience in enterprise Windows Infrastructure
- Solid hands-on expertise in:
- Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP
- VMware / virtualization platforms
- Failover clustering and high availability
- Backup & DR concepts
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting

- Strong experience with:

- Hardware-level troubleshooting and server management tools
- Monitoring tools and proactive operations management

- Solid understanding of data center operations and networking fundamentals
- Experience working in global support environments (24x7/on-call)

Preferred Qualifications

- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- Microsoft Certified (Windows Server / Azure)
- VMware Certification
- ITIL Foundation

- Exposure to:

- Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud
- Automation frameworks and scripting (PowerShell advanced level)
