- Prepare and check the anesthesia machine, ventilator, monitors, and equipment before surgery.
- Assist the anesthesiologist during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Prepare equipment for arterial lines, central venous lines, airway management, and invasive monitoring.
- Assist with blood transfusion equipment, fluid warmers, rapid infusers, and cell-salvage systems.
- Prepare specialized equipment for cardiac procedures, including equipment needed for cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and cardiac surgery.
- Maintain adequate supplies of airway devices, IV equipment, drugs-related consumables, and emergency equipment.
- Assist with emergency situations such as cardiac arrest, difficult airway, massive blood loss, or hemodynamic instability.
- Follow strict infection-control, sterilization, and operating-room safety procedures.
- Check equipment after surgery and ensure it is cleaned, restocked, and ready for the next case.
- Maintain documentation and inventory of anesthesia equipment and consumables.
