Job Description Quality Inspector

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Location: Onsite (Customer Location / Plant)
Reports To: Team Leader / Site Engineer / Team Leader Quality
Employment Type: On-roll
Experience Required: 0 to 3 years (Automotive / Manufacturing preferred)

1. Purpose of Position
The Quality Inspector serves as a key technical and administrative member of the Quality team, responsible for ensuring that all parts, assemblies, and components meet customer standards, safety expectations, and strict quality control guidelines (within TEAL I & CIES / Crown quality systems). Operating within corporate policy and business operation procedures, the role demands rigorous inspection, meticulous documentation, instrument management, and adherence to continuous improvement practices at customer and host plant locations.
2. Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
Inspection, Technical Operations & Calibration
Conduct part inspections as per approved work instructions, checklists, and inspection tables to achieve cycle times and daily productivity targets.
Ensure all individual laptops, measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection tools (Attribute & Variable) are free from damage and maintain valid calibration status prior to use.
Accurately complete and maintain daily inspection time sheets, inspection reports, rejection details, and traceability logs at the end of each shift.
Coordinate with inspection activities to ensure seamless throughput and support meeting 24-hour delivery/inspection targets.
Review previous day Non-Conformance (NC) reports with the Team Leader or Site Engineer prior to initiating daily operations.




Refrain from signing any customer or host documentation without explicit supervisor acknowledgment and authorization.
Workplace Discipline, 5S & Safety
Adhere strictly to assigned shift timings and log live locations upon entry and exit at customer premises.
Execute 5S housekeeping activities at the start and throughout every shift, ensuring 100% compliance in maintaining a clean, organized workstation.
Ensure strict usage of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and full compliance with site safety standards.
Maintain regular attendance, avoid unauthorized leave or permissions, and uphold company professional standards and ethical practices within customer host premises.
Quality Assurance, RCA & Continuous Improvement
Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective/preventive actions whenever quality complaints or deviations arise.
Take proactive preventive measures to minimize customer concerns, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
Support daily/monthly audits, ensure audit compliance, and maintain neat, updated inspection assignment files.
Contribute actionable ideas for continuous improvement in quality control processes, customer satisfaction, and Crown performance.
Assist in training and onboarding recent Quality Inspectors as required.

4. Key Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail, precision, and dedication to quality standards.
Hands-on knowledge of inspection tools, attribute/variable gauges, measuring equipment, and work instructions.
Demonstrated understanding of 5S methodologies, quality control systems, and industrial safety standards.
Basic knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action processes.
Effective basic communication skills, teamwork, responsibility, and trustworthiness.
High level of punctuality, discipline, and commitment to organizational policies.
5. Qualification & Experience
Educational Qualification: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or related engineering discipline.
Experience: 0 to 3 years in quality inspection, quality control, or manufacturing environments (Automotive industry experience preferred).
Ability to read, interpret, and implement safety standards, work instructions, and technical quality expectations.
6. Other Requirements & Working Conditions
Willingness to work onsite at various customer plant locations across regions.
Flexibility to work in rotational shifts as required by site operations and client schedules.
