Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Stock Auditor to independently handle and supervise stock audit assignments across client locations. The role involves physical stock verification, reconciliation of inventory records, identification of discrepancies, investigation of variances, preparation of audit reports, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct physical stock audits at client locations, warehouses, stores, and other assigned premises.
- Plan and execute stock audit assignments within defined timelines.
- Lead and supervise junior auditors during audit assignments.
- Verify physical stock against books, ERP/system records, and supporting documents.
- Identify shortages, excess stock, damaged/obsolete/non-moving inventory, and other discrepancies.
- Verify inward, outward, transfer, return, and adjustment transactions.
- Reconcile inventory quantities, rates, and values with accounting and system records.
- Investigate the root causes of stock variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Review inventory controls, storage practices, documentation, and operational processes.
- Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting observations, discrepancies, risks, and recommendations.
- Maintain proper audit working papers, supporting documents, and evidence.




- Coordinate professionally with client representatives, warehouse teams, accounts teams, and management.
- Review audit reports prepared by junior team members and ensure accuracy before submission.
- Follow up on unresolved audit observations and corrective actions.
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, pilferage risks, and operational leakages.
- Support management in improving inventory control systems and audit procedures.
- Ensure all audit assignments and reports are completed within prescribed TAT.
- Travel to different client locations as per business requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- M.Com, MBA Finance, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 2-3 years of relevant experience in Stock Audit, Inventory Audit, Internal Audit, Inventory Control, or a similar role.
- Experience in supervising audit teams and handling multiple assignments will be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in retail, trading, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or multi-location businesses will be preferred.

Required Skills





- Strong knowledge of stock audit and inventory control procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, filters, and reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of ERP/accounting software such as Tally, SAP, Zoho, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent discrepancy identification and investigation skills.
- Good report writing and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and client-handling skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong integrity, confidentiality, and qualified ethics.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Willingness to travel extensively for client assignments.

Salary: As per company standards and candidate's experience.

Note: The position requires regular travel to client locations as per business requirements.
