Vendor Development
- Identify and develop new suppliers for stamping, welding, machining, painting, tooling, jigs, fixtures, packaging, and other requirements.
- Source suitable vendors based on quality, cost, capacity, technology, and delivery capability.
- Float RFQs to vendors and obtain technical and commercial quotations.
- Prepare vendor quotation comparison and negotiate pricing.
- Conduct supplier capability and feasibility evaluations.
- Coordinate supplier visits and vendor audits with Quality/Engineering teams.
- Develop alternate suppliers to improve cost competitiveness and supply security.
- Monitor supplier development activities and ensure timely completion.
New Product Development
- Coordinate new product development activities from RFQ to SOP.
- Review customer drawings and manufacturing feasibility.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, PPC, Purchase, Tool Room, and vendors.
- Follow up for prototype/sample development.
- Coordinate tooling, fixture, trial, sample, and PPAP activities.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of development milestones.
- Support resolution of technical and commercial issues during development.
Supplier Performance Management
- Monitor vendor performance related to Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD).
- Follow up on supplier delivery schedules and development commitments.
- Coordinate corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
- Monitor supplier capacity and production readiness.
- Develop action plans for delayed or underperforming suppliers.
- Support supplier improvement and cost reduction activities.
Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of automotive components and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of stamping, welding, painting, machining, assembly, tooling, dies, jigs and fixtures.
- Knowledge of automotive raw materials and grades.
- Knowledge of product costing and quotation preparation.
- Understanding of customer drawings, BOM, SOR, and specifications.
- Knowledge of supplier development and vendor evaluation.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prepare technical and commercial presentations.
- Inventory management skill
- Weekly and Monthly inventory report prepare.
