Formed as 51:49 joint ventures between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, these utilities supply reliable power to nearly 10 million consumers across the state.

This Position will be based at TPCODL (TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited), Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Job Purpose
To develop and implement the organization's industrial relations strategy, fostering a positive and harmonious relationship between management and employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and effectively managing industrial disputes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
Industrial Relations Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive industrial relations strategy aligned with the organization's goals and values.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with employee representatives, unions (if applicable), and the workforce.
- Proactively identify potential industrial relations issues and develop preventive strategies.
Negotiation and Collective Bargaining:
- Lead and manage negotiations with unions or employee representatives on matters related to wages, working conditions, and other terms of employment.
- Develop and implement collective bargaining agreements.
- Ensure compliance with the terms of collective bargaining agreements.
Grievance Handling and Dispute Resolution:
- Establish and manage effective grievance handling mechanisms.
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances and industrial disputes in a fair and timely manner.
- Mediate and facilitate discussions to reach amicable settlements.
Compliance with Labor Laws:
- Ensure the organization's compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements in India (including but not limited to the Industrial Disputes Act, Trade Unions Act, etc.).
- Stay updated on changes in labor legislation and advise management on their implications.
- Manage statutory filings and reporting related to industrial relations.
Educational Qualifications - Master's degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Law, Human Resources, or a related field. A Law degree (LLB) is advantageous.
Experience - 20+ years of experience
Knowledge & Skills
In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and industrial relations practices.
Proven negotiation and collective bargaining skills.
Strong conflict resolution and mediation abilities.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with employees, unions, and external authorities.
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ethical and fair approach to handling employee and industrial relations issues.
