BMC IT is seeking aPlatform System Administrator with foundational expertise in Application Infrastructure Operations, DevOps support, and Enterprise IT Operations. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining secure, stable, and high-performing application platforms across hybrid environments (On-Prem, SaaS, PaaS).

The ideal candidate has hands-on operational experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to learn up-to-date platform and automation practices. This role focuses on day-to-day platform operations, incident response, and system stability, working under guidance from senior engineers to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Application Operations

Support production environments by monitoring system health, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
Respond to incidents and service requests, assist in troubleshooting, and follow defined escalation procedures to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Platform Support & Maintenance

Execute routine operational activities such as application deployments, restarts, patching, upgrades, and system health checks.
Maintain system accuracy, perform housekeeping activities, and ensure operational integrity of infrastructure platforms.

DevOps & Automation Support

Support execution of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline operations, job monitoring, and automation scripts.
Leverage existing automation tools and scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Governance & Compliance

Adhere to IT governance, security policies, and compliance standards.
Ensure proper handling of access controls, system configurations, and operational processes to protect enterprise assets.

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with application,



infrastructure, network, and security teams to troubleshoot issues and assess impact.
Communicate effectively on incidents, changes, and operational updates with stakeholders and support on-call rotations.

Continuous Learning & Improvement

Continuously build technical skills in platform operations, automation, and emerging technologies.
Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6-12 years of experience in:
- Application Infrastructure Support
- Enterprise IT Operations
- System Administration

Core Technical Skills

Infrastructure & Platforms

- Basic understanding of application infrastructure in hybrid environments (On-Prem, SaaS, PaaS)
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, AIX
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud

DevOps & Automation

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Basic experience with automation tools: Ansible, Control-M, Terraform
- Basic scripting exposure: Shell, PowerShell, or Python
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform

Containerization & Application Support

- Exposure to container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Basic administration of web/application servers: Tomcat, Apache, JBoss

Monitoring & Observability

- Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, ELK, or equivalent
- Ability to analyze alerts and perform initial troubleshooting

ITSM & Operations

- Understanding of ITSM processes: Incident, Change, and Problem Management
- Experience working with tools like Remedy or equivalent platforms
