Role Overview

We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer with 3+ years of experience in testing web

applications and backend services. The candidate should have strong knowledge of functional

testing, UI testing, API/backend validation, test case management, defect management, and

end-to-end testing of web applications.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable understanding business requirements, identifying

test scenarios, executing comprehensive testing, investigating issues across UI and backend

layers, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing of web applications.
- Validate Web UI functionality across supported browsers and screen resolutions.
- Perform backend/API testing and validate request/response payloads, status codes, business rules, and error handling.
- Create, maintain, review, and execute detailed test cases in TestRail .
- Identify test scenarios from product requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Validate complete UI API Backend workflows to ensure data consistency.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or equivalent tools.
- Use browser Developer Tools to inspect network requests, console errors, cookies,
- storage, and application behavior.
- Validate backend data using SQL/database queries where required.
- Perform cross-browser testing across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge as applicable.




- Validate responsive web experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile web.
- Perform negative, boundary, edge-case, and exploratory testing beyond documented happy-path scenarios.
- Log defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, severity, priority, screenshots/logs, and supporting evidence .
- Perform root-cause investigation to determine whether issues originate from the UI, API, backend, data, configuration, or third-party integrations.
- Retest resolved defects and perform appropriate regression testing.
- Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, grooming, release validation, and QAsign-off activities.
- Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, Backend Engineers, and other QA engineers .
- Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, defect status, and release readiness clearly.

Required Skills

- 3+ years of hands-on Manual QA experience .
- Strong experience testing web-based applications .
- Strong understanding of Web UI testing and end-to-end user workflows.
- Hands-on experience with TestRail for test case and test execution management.
- Experience with API/backend testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON payloads, headers, authentication, and API error handling .
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira,



Datadog, Charles Proxy, or similar debugging/monitoring tools .
- Experience using browser Developer Tools , particularly Network and Console.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile/Scrum methodologies .
- Ability to create detailed and maintainable test scenarios and test cases.
- Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, exploratory, negative, and boundary testing .
- Ability to investigate defects across both frontend and backend systems .
- Basic to intermediate SQL/database validation skills.
- Robust analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have

- Experience testing e-commerce or customer-facing web applications .
- Experience validating checkout, payments, orders, inventory, promotions, or similartransactional workflows .
- Understanding of event/analytics tracking validation .
- Basic understanding of accessibility and localization testing.
- Experience working with CI/CD environments and release validation.

The candidate should be someone who does more than execute predefined test cases. They should be able to understand a feature end-to-end, identify missing scenarios, explore edge cases, validate both UI and backend behavior , investigate failures independently, and provide a clear assessment of product quality and release risk.
