Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our enterprise database environments. You will ensure high performance, availability, security, and reliability across all production, staging, and development database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Installation & Maintenance: Administer SQL Server environments, handling installation, configuration, upgrades, cumulative updates/patching, database provisioning, and regular maintenance.
- Performance Monitoring & Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, CPU, memory, disk I/O, wait stats, blocking, deadlocks, execution plans, and long-running queries using DMVs, Query Store, and Extended Events.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and maintain backup/recovery strategies (Full, Differential, Transaction Log), retention policies, recovery models, point-in-time recovery, and restore drills.
- Storage & Capacity Management: Manage database files, filegroups, transaction logs, TempDB configuration, autogrowth settings, and capacity planning.
- Maintenance Activities: Execute routine index rebuilds/reorganizes, statistics updates, and DBCC integrity checks.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve production incidents,



including connectivity issues, performance degradation, blocking/deadlocks, failed SQL Agent jobs, and storage/corruption issues.
- Migration & Upgrades: Support database migrations, environment refreshes, and application rollouts with thorough validation and rollback plans.
- Architecture & Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure teams, software engineers, and architects to align database designs with business and scalability requirements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), DR plans, maintenance schedules, and root-cause analysis (RCA) reports.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Experience: 3 8 Years in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration (Production Support).
- Technical Skills: MS SQL Server (2016/2019/2022), T-SQL, Query Store, DMVs, Extended Events, Backup/Restore, High Availability (AlwaysOn, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping).
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / B.Sc in Computer Science, IT, or related technical disciplines.
- Certifications (Valuable to have): Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or related SQL Server certifications.
