Job Description

Team Leader BESS PMC

The Team Leader BESS PMC will lead day-to-day PMC monitoring and governance activities for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from equipment delivery and installation through integration, performance testing, commissioning, and Handover to Operations (HOTO).

The role will coordinate multidisciplinary project stakeholders, oversee package-level readiness, and provide leadership across battery systems, PCS, MV electrical infrastructure, auxiliaries, HVAC, fire protection systems, and EMS/BMS/SCADA integration activities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Coordination

- Lead PMC discipline resources across the BESS package.
- Coordinate interfaces among OEMs, EPC contractors, client representatives, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment across engineering, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, and HSE teams.

Installation & Integration Monitoring

- Monitor installation readiness for battery containers, PCS, transformers, MV switchgear, HVAC, FSS, and auxiliaries.
- Oversee EMS/BMS/SCADA integration activities through the Electrical Engineer.
- Track construction progress, installation sequencing, and interface completion.

Risk & Performance Management

- Review schedule, quality, safety, compliance, warranty, and performance-testing risks.




- Escalate critical project constraints and recovery requirements.
- Support implementation of mitigation and corrective actions.

Commissioning & Handover Readiness

- Coordinate energization and integrated performance test readiness.
- Verify completion of package punch items and closeout requirements.
- Submit HOTO readiness and package closeout recommendations to the PMO BESS Lead.

Qualifications

Education

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Power Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- M.Tech preferred.

Experience

- 15+ years of experience in power, renewable energy, transmission, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Proven leadership experience in grid-scale BESS construction and commissioning projects.
- Experience managing OEM, EPC, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Certifications

- PMP preferred.
- BESS/OEM Safety Training.
- NFPA 855 Fire Safety Awareness.
- EMS/BMS/SCADA Systems Training.
- Grid Code and Performance Testing Training desirable.
