Job Summary

The Centre for Universal Health Assurance (CUHA) at ISPP works to strengthen India's journey toward Universal Health Coverage through research, policy engagement, implementation support, and institutional partnerships. The Centre focuses on areas such as health financing, primary healthcare, digital health, governance, healthcare quality, insurance and assurance models, and evidence-informed policymaking. CUHA is inviting applications for a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join the Centre's growing team.

Qualifications

- Masters degree in Public Health/ Public Policy/ Health Economics/ Development Studies/ Public Administration/ Sociology/ Political Science, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of work experience is preferable
- Demonstrated interest in health policy, health systems, public health, or allied fields.
- Strong analytical, research, and academic writing skills.
- Experience conducting literature reviews and synthesising evidence.
- Familiarity with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, Python, NVivo) will be an advantage.
- Experience supporting publications, policy reports, or grant-funded projects.
- Familiarity with health systems, Universal Health Coverage, or health financing will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

- Conduct high-quality literature reviews, policy analysis,



and quantitative and qualitative research on topics related to health systems, universal health coverage, health financing, governance, and other emerging public health priorities.
- Support the preparation of flagship reports, policy papers, journal manuscripts, blogs, and other knowledge products.
- Assist in the collection, management, analysis, and synthesis of data from primary and secondary sources.
- Coordinate expert consultations, stakeholder interviews, workshops, roundtables, and policy dialogues with government agencies, academic institutions, development partners, civil society organisations, and industry.
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, concept notes, meeting summaries, and communication material for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to project management activities, including tracking timelines, maintaining documentation, coordinating with partners, and supporting reporting requirements.
- Assist faculty and senior researchers in drafting policy recommendations and translating research evidence into actionable policy insights.
- Monitor developments in health policy, public health, and related sectors and contribute to the Centre's knowledge management activities.
- Undertake any other research, programme, or administrative responsibilities as required by the Centre.
