- BBS Preparation

Prepare detailed BBS for footings, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, retaining walls, staircases and other RCC elements.

Calculate bar diameter, shape, cutting length, number of bars, total length and weight.

Prepare BBS based on approved structural/GFC drawings.

Drawing & Technical Review

Study and interpret structural and reinforcement drawings.

Cross-check structural drawings with architectural and GFC drawings.

Identify discrepancies and raise RFIs/clarifications with the design/consultant team.

Incorporate drawing revisions accurately.

Steel Quantity & Reconciliation

Calculate reinforcement quantities for procurement and execution.

Monitor theoretical versus actual steel consumption.

Prepare steel reconciliation and consumption reports.

Identify opportunities to minimize steel wastage.

Site Coordination

-
Coordinate with Site Engineers, Planning, QS/Billing, Procurement and Stores teams.

Issue approved BBS to the rebar yard/steel fabrication team.

Ensure reinforcement is cut, bent, tagged and supplied as per the approved BBS.

Support site teams in resolving reinforcement-related technical issues.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure reinforcement detailing complies with approved drawings, project specifications and applicable IS Codes.

Verify laps, anchorage, development length, hooks, bends, spacing and cover requirements.

Ensure only approved/latest BBS revisions are used for execution.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain BBS master files, drawing revisions and approval records.

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly steel consumption and progress reports.
