We are looking for a skilled Lead Software Engineer to drive cloud infrastructure and data engineering initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Skill set

Cloud Development Engineer / Data Integration Engineer

Domain knowledge

• 3+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on
cloud-native development and data infrastructure.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing solutions
on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services like BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud
Storage, Compute Engine, Pub/Sub, and IAM.
• Expert proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and cloud
application development.
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud
Deployment Manager).
• Solid understanding and practical experience with CI/CD principles and tools (e.g.,
Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines for both batch and
streaming data processing.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database concepts and data
warehousing principles.

Good to have:
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Skilled Data Engineer
Certification.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker,
Kubernetes/GKE).
• Familiarity with automotive telematics, connected vehicle data, or similar large
scale IoT data ecosystems.




• Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to
drive technical initiatives and influence stakeholders.
• Experience with other programming languages such as Java or Go.

infrastructure and data engineering initiatives on Google Cloud Platform. Our team is
dedicated to creating robust analytics that provide critical insights for automotive product
development and quality improvements. In this role, you will be responsible for designing,
implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions, data
pipelines, and automation frameworks. You will leverage your expertise in software
engineering best practices, DevOps principles, and GCP services to ensure our data
platforms are efficient, reliable, and capable of handling large-scale connected vehicle
data. We are looking for a proactive leader who is passionate about cloud technology,
automation, and solving complex data challenges in a dynamic automotive environment.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates In this role, you will:
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud




infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using services such as BigQuery,
Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and Google Kubernetes Engine
(GKE).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud
Deployment Manager to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management
of GCP resources.
• Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, including modular code
design, comprehensive testing, code reviews, version control (Git), and
documentation standards.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and
release management of cloud infrastructure and data applications.
• Develop and integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for cloud services
and data pipelines to ensure high availability, performance, and proactive issue
detection.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, data analysts, and product development
teams to understand data requirements, provide technical guidance, and translate analytical needs into scalable engineering solutions.
• Lead efforts in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to
cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, application performance, and security.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of our cloud architecture and data platform,
evaluating new technologies and recommending best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers, foster a culture of technical excellence, and promote
knowledge sharing within the team.
• Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to Ford's security, governance, and data privacy standards.
