Data Scientist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The candidate should have 3-5 years of proven experience in data science with a strong focus on time series forecasting, generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI), classical machine learning (ML), deep learning, and statistics. The candidate should possess a deep understanding of data analysis techniques and methodologies, as well as hands-on experience with Databricks and the Azure platform. Previous experience in retail, particularly fashion retail, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

- Utilize advanced statistical, machine learning, and time-series forecasting techniques to develop and implement forecasting models that predict future trends, sales, and customer behaviour in the retail industry.

- Leverage Generative AI (Gen AI) techniques and large language models (LLMs) to design and develop innovative business solutions.

- Develop, deploy, and optimize Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Generative AI models using techniques such as regression, decision trees, random forests, ensemble methods, and neural networks.

- Apply deep learning algorithms to extract meaningful insights from unstructured data sources, including images, text, and audio.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and actionable data science solutions.

- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA),



feature engineering, model development, and validation to ensure the accuracy, robustness, and reliability of predictive models.

- Work closely with stakeholders to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations in a clear, concise, and business-oriented manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in data science, with a focus on forecasting, ML, deep learning, and statistics.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and PySpark.

Hands-on experience with python libraries (forecasting, classification, clustering, optimization, NLP) data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) for communicating complex ideas effectively.

Proven history in successfully executing forecasting and gen AI projects.

Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, particularly Azure, and experience with Databricks for data processing and analysis.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Previous experience in the retail industry, especially fashion retail, is preferred.
