Job Summary

What You'll Do
- Meet weekly with Property Accounting management for strategic planning
- Meet weekly with full Property, Draw teams for planning, alignment
- Communicate daily/weekly on key/pending items or process questions
- Annual performance evaluation
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor emails; respond to all requests within 24 hours
- Oversee all department staff and activities, ensuring department deadlines are met
- Provide technical assistance to property accountants
- Liaise with leadership from other departments on technical issues as they arise
- Develop and record department procedures
- Assist in new staff training and onboarding
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients regarding questions, concerns, and open items
- Prepare reports and other schedules as requested.
- Cover questions/deliverables for accountants who are out of office
- Approve wires in the absence of the director
- Stay up to date on monthly cyber-security training
- Support senior leadership on special projects
- Manage team members workflow, activities, and professional development
- Direct training and onboarding activities for department
- Suggest new processes and procedures to improve efficiency across the department, company, and client base
Monthly Responsibilities
- Review financials prepared by accountants
- Ensure all client deadlines are met
- Collaborate with the Fund team, Draw team and AP to resolve issues.
- Review lender reports prior to client submission
- Finalize agenda; facilitate monthly call with regional PMs to review updates, questions and concerns
- Lead calls with client s accounting team to review updates, questions and process improvements
- Review, revise procedures completed by accountants, as needed
Quarterly/Annual Responsibilities
- Review CAM reconciliations,
- Assist in completing audit requests
- Assist Tax team with any questions that arise during return preparation
- Set goals for department; develop workflow and manpower plans
- Conduct quarterly review of team performance, progress toward established goals
- Manage 30/60/90 reviews for newly hired staff
- Manage annual performance evaluation process, goal planning for members of the team
Skills Required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Yardi
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills; organized and attentive to details
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines; exercises sound judgement
- A self-starter attitude, ability to work independently and collaborate with others
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; confidence in interactions with clients, senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to train, develop team members, provide constructive feedback and mentorship
- Proven ability to set department goals, manage workflow, and allocate resources to ensure productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Positive track record of developing team members, cultivating positive culture within the department
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in accounting (or related field)
- Minimum of four years of experience in property accounting
- CPA (or in process of completing CPA) preferred
- Minimum two years in supervisory role
