Location: Bangalore

In India, biweekly iron supplementation is recommended under national program of Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) for prevention of childhood anemia. However, there is scarcity in evidence about the absorption of iron from this regime and overall impact of biweekly oral iron on iron balance in the body in infants and toddlers. Long-term stable isotope studies offer excellent means to estimate iron absorption and iron losses and can help to estimate outcomes of iron supplementation. Should assist the Principal Investigator and Co investigators in analysis if iron isotopic ratio measurements using established SOPs

Key Responsibilities

- Sample receipt and management: Receive, verify, label, and log biological samples such as whole blood, maintain storage records and prevent sample mix-ups or contamination.
- Sample preparation: Prepare reagents, standards, blanks, and quality-control samples.
- Prepare samples for iron isotopic analysis according to established SOPs.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laboratory and minimize metal contamination.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.




- Maintain stock and inventory of consumables, reagents, acids, standards, and laboratory supplies.
- Follow chemical safety, biosafety, waste-disposal, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, sample preparation records, instrument logbooks, and SOP compliance documentation.

Eligibility Criteria
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Nutrition, and or related fields may be desirable
- Preferred Language: English, Kannada
- Experience: Fresher with maximum of six months experience. Preference may be given to candidates with additional training or hands-on experience in:

- Laboratory quality assurance and quality control.
- Biological sample handling and preparation.
- Clean laboratory procedures and contamination control.
- Handling and analysis of secure isotopes
