Urgent Hiring - Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Qualifications
- MBBS
- MS / DNB Orthopaedics
- Valid State Medical Council Registration
Experience
- Consultant: Minimum 3-5 years post-MS/DNB experience
- Senior Consultant: Minimum 8-10 years post-MS/DNB experience with demonstrated surgical proficiency
- Fellowship in Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy Sports Medicine, Trauma, Spine or Paediatric Orthopaedics will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Orthopaedic OPD consultations and manage IPD patients
- Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disorders, fractures, trauma, degenerative joint conditions and sports injuries
- Manage emergency trauma, fracture, dislocation and polytrauma cases
- Interpret X-rays, CT scans, MRI and other diagnostic investigations
- Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Perform trauma and fracture surgeries including reduction, intramedullary nailing, plate fixation and external fixation
- Perform Joint Replacement procedures including TKR, THR and revision arthroplasty as per expertise
- Perform arthroscopic procedures, ligament reconstruction and meniscal repairs as per expertise
- Spine and Paediatric Orthopaedic procedures may be performed if appropriately credentialed
- Monitor post-operative recovery, wound care and complications
- Coordinate with physiotherapists, intensivists, pain specialists, neurologists and other specialists
- Participate in emergency and trauma on-call duties
- Ensure timely stabilization and surgical management of emergency cases
Quality & Compliance
- Follow NABH, NMC and hospital clinical protocols
- Maintain complete and accurate medical documentation
- Ensure informed consent and appropriate counselling before procedures
- Participate in clinical audits, MM reviews and quality improvement programmes
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols
- Report adverse events and near-miss incidents as per hospital policy
Academic & Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in CMEs, conferences and professional forums
- Mentor and supervise junior doctors and residents
- Develop and update departmental clinical protocols and surgical checklists
- Stay updated with advances in Orthopaedic surgery, implants and minimally invasive techniques
- Participate in research and academic activities where applicable
Hospital Growth
- Contribute to development of an Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence
- Strengthen referral networks with physicians, GPs and healthcare providers
- Participate in health camps and community outreach programmes
- Support development of Joint Replacement, Sports Injury, Trauma, Osteoporosis and Spine clinics
- Contribute to patient retention, service-line growth and departmental reputation

Key Skills
- Strong Orthopaedic diagnostic and surgical skills
- Expertise in trauma and fracture management
- Joint replacement and/or arthroscopic surgery experience preferred
- Robust emergency and polytrauma management skills
- Excellent patient counselling and communication
- Strong teamwork and multidisciplinary coordination
- Ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure
- Good EMR/HIS documentation and quality compliance
