About the Role

looking for an AutoCAD Designer with mandatory hands-on experience in Rooftop Solar PV projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate rooftop solar layouts, engineering drawings and project documentation based on site survey data and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for rooftop solar PV projects.
- Develop detailed rooftop solar module layouts based on actual site conditions.
- Prepare layouts considering roof dimensions, obstructions, shadows, access pathways and equipment locations.
- Convert site survey measurements/data into accurate AutoCAD rooftop layouts.
- Prepare solar panel/module arrangement drawings and equipment placement drawings.
- Prepare inverter, ACDB/DCDB and other equipment locations.
- Prepare cable routing and basic electrical drawings for rooftop installations.
- Prepare/revise Single Line Diagrams (SLD) based on engineering inputs.
- Prepare drawings for different rooftop types, including RCC, metal sheet/industrial roofs, wherever applicable.
- Incorporate structural and mounting-system requirements into rooftop layouts.
- Coordinate with Site Survey, Design, Project and Installation teams.
- Make drawing revisions based on site conditions, client requirements and engineering feedback.




- Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
- Maintain drawing revisions, documentation and project records.
- Support BOQ/quantity calculations from drawings wherever required.

Mandatory Requirement

Candidates MUST have prior hands-on experience designing Rooftop Solar PV projects using AutoCAD.

The candidate should have practical experience with:

- Rooftop solar module layouts
- Site survey drawings
- Roof measurements
- Shadow/obstruction considerations
- Module placement
- Inverter/equipment placement
- Cable routing
- Rooftop structure/layout drawings
- Solar project drawing revisions

Candidates with only ground-mounted solar / utility-scale solar experience will NOT be considered.

Required Technical Skills

- AutoCAD 2D – Mandatory
- Rooftop Solar Design – Mandatory
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Knowledge of solar PV layouts
- Basic understanding of electrical drawings/SLDs
- Knowledge of rooftop structures and mounting systems
- Positive understanding of dimensions, layers, blocks, annotations and plotting in AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret site survey data

Preferred Experience

Candidates from Solar EPC companies with experience in residential, commercial and/or industrial rooftop solar projects will be preferred.

Experience with C&I; rooftop solar projects will be an added advantage.
