Sales & Business Development Engineer – Industrial Automation

REX AUTOMATION PVT LTD – Chennai

REX Automation is looking for an energetic and self-driven Sales & Business Development Engineer to develop new business opportunities in Industrial Automation, PLC/SCADA, Instrumentation, Control Panels, Electrical & Automation Projects, and Industrial Engineering Services.

The candidate will be responsible for identifying potential customers, developing relationships with industrial clients and EPC contractors, generating enquiries/RFQs, coordinating technical discussions, following up quotations, and supporting the company in converting opportunities into orders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and approach new industrial customers, EPC contractors, consultants and system integrators.
- Generate leads through field visits, telephone calls, LinkedIn, email and professional networks.
- Visit factories and project sites to understand customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities for PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, control panels and automation projects.
- Generate RFQs and coordinate with the REX technical team for quotations.
- Follow up submitted quotations and negotiate with customers.
- Maintain a daily/weekly sales pipeline and customer database.




- Develop long-term relationships with customers and generate repeat business.
- Travel within Chennai and other locations in Tamil Nadu when required.

Preferred Skills:

- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, EEE, ECE, Automation or related field.
- 0–3 years of industrial sales/business-development experience preferred.
- Candidates with automation, electrical panel, instrumentation, MEP or industrial equipment sales exposure will be preferred.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Willingness to make customer visits and develop recent business.
- Self-motivated, target-oriented and strong in follow-up.
- Tamil and English communication required.
- Valid two-wheeler licence preferred.

Compensation:

- Fixed salary: ₹20,000/month
- Employment: Full-time
- Location: S. Kolathur / Kovilambakkam, Chennai
- Travel: Chennai & Tamil Nadu as required
- Incentive: Additional performance-based incentive on successfully converted business
- Experience: 0–3 years; industrial/automation sales preferred
- Two-wheeler: Preferred
- Joining: Immediate preferred
