Company Overview
DeStaco Turnkey Solutions LLP is seeking skilled Insulators to join our team supporting shipbuilding, ship repair, and offshore/marine construction projects.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Marine Insulator to install, remove, repair, and maintain thermal, acoustic, and fire-rated insulation systems aboard vessels and marine structures. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of hands-on marine insulation experience and is comfortable working in confined spaces aboard ships under production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, fabricate, and fit thermal, acoustic, and fire-rated (A-Class/B-Class) insulation materials on piping, ductwork, bulkheads, tanks, and machinery aboard marine vessels.
- Remove and reinstall insulation for maintenance, repair, and inspection access as required.
- Cut, shape, and fit insulation blankets, boards, and jacketing (e.g., mineral wool, fiberglass, calcium silicate) to marine specifications.
- Apply metal or fabric lagging/jacketing and secure with bands, wires, or fasteners per shipyard and class society standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, insulation schedules, and marine specifications (e.g., SOLAS, ABS, USCG, or applicable classification society requirements).
- Work safely in confined and tight spaces, including tanks, engine rooms, and shipboard compartments.
- Coordinate with pipefitters, welders, electricians, and other trades to sequence work efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment; follow all shipyard and vessel safety protocols.
- Complete quality checks and documentation to confirm work meets project and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of marine insulation experience (shipyard, shipboard repair, offshore, or naval vessel work).
- Working knowledge of marine insulation materials and fire-rated bulkhead/deck systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, deck plans, and insulation specifications.
- Comfortable working aloft, in confined spaces, and in varying shipboard conditions (heat, noise, limited ventilation).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or ability to obtain one.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
Work Environment
- Shipyard and/or vessel-based work, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, and outdoor conditions.
- Physical role requiring standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
