Service & Automation Engineer — Machine Commissioning, PLC & Servo

Metplast Industries · Khalapur / Khopoli, Raigad, Maharashtra · Full-time · ₹6–9 LPA

About us

Metplast Industries designs, manufactures, installs and services automation systems and equipment for the poultry

industry across India. We also support MOBA egg grading and packing machines — among the most advanced

automated machines used in this sector. Our work spans machine service at customer sites, in-house development of

automated equipment, and control panel design and commissioning.

What the job is

This is a hands-on engineering role with two sides. About half your time is field service: travelling to customer sites

across India to install, commission, troubleshoot and repair automated machines. The other half is development work

at our facility: building and improving PLC and servo-driven equipment, writing and testing control logic, and designing

and commissioning control panels.

If you enjoy solving machine problems yourself — with a multimeter in one hand and a laptop connected to a PLC in

the other — and you want to build machines as well as fix them, this role will suit you.

What you will do

- Install, commission, service and repair automated machines at customer sites across India, including MOBA egg

grading and packing equipment.

- Diagnose electrical, control, sensor, drive and mechanical faults using drawings, manuals, PLC diagnostics and test

instruments.

- Write, modify and test PLC and HMI logic — motion sequences, interlocks, alarms, manual/auto modes and safe

recovery after faults.

- Commission and tune servo drives, VFDs, encoders and field sensors for accurate machine movement and

positioning.

- Work on weighing and dosing systems using load cells: calibration, accuracy verification and repeatability trials.
- Design, wire, test and commission control panels including ventilation and fan control panels, with proper

protections and fail-safe operation.

- Carry out preventive maintenance, trial runs and operator handover; train customer staff on safe operation and

basic fault finding.

- Write clear service reports covering the complaint, root cause, work done, parts used and preventive

recommendations.

What we are looking for

- Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience servicing, commissioning or maintaining industrial machines or automated

equipment.

- Practical troubleshooting of three-phase motors, control circuits, contactors, relays, MCB/MCCB protection, 24

VDC supplies, sensors and panel wiring.

- Confident use of a multimeter and clamp meter; understanding of insulation testing and safe electrical isolation

(lockout/tagout).

- Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic on at least one platform — able to go online, monitor I/O, trace interlocks

and find why a sequence stopped.

- Experience with servo drives and/or VFDs: parameters, common alarms, feedback devices and motor or load

related faults.

- Mechanical aptitude: conveyors, chains, belts, bearings, gearboxes, alignment and basic pneumatics.
- Willing to travel approximately 60–70% across India and attend urgent breakdown calls when a customer machine

is down.

- Able to read electrical drawings and machine manuals, and communicate professionally with customers in Hindi

and English.

Positive to have (not compulsory)

Experience with packaging, food processing, sorting, conveying or similar production machinery · load cell calibration

and batching or dosing systems · HVAC, ventilation or environmental control · industrial communication such as

Modbus, Profinet or EtherNet/IP · panel design and BOM preparation · valid driving licence and passport.

You do not need poultry industry experience. If you are a strong machine service or automation engineer from any

industry, we will train you on our equipment and arrange OEM training.

What we offer

- ₹6–9 LPA depending on your experience and capability.
- Travel and daily allowance for site visits, plus travel reimbursement.
- Training on MOBA and other imported automation equipment — skills that are in short supply in India.
- Real ownership: you will handle machines end to end, not one small part of them.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month

Application Question(s):

- Do you have at least 2 years of hands-on industrial machinery service,

commissioning or maintenance experience?

- Are you willing to travel approximately 60–70% across India and work at

customer production sites and farms?

- Are you willing to attend urgent breakdown calls, including occasional

work outside normal hours?

- Can you follow electrical isolation, lockout/tagout and safe-restart

procedures?

- Which industrial machines have you personally installed, commissioned or

repaired? State the machine, industry and your exact responsibility.

- Which PLC/HMI brands have you used, and what did you personally

program or diagnose?

- Describe one servo or VFD fault you diagnosed: the alarm, root cause and

corrective action.

- Have you calibrated load cells or worked on batching, dosing or weighing

systems? Give one example.

- What is your current CTC, expected CTC and notice period?
- Do you hold a Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics,

Mechatronics, Electromechanical or Instrumentation Engineering?
