Mechanical Helper – Job Description

Position: Mechanical Helper

Department: Maintenance / Mechanical

Reporting To: Mechanical Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a hardworking and technically inclined Mechanical Helper to assist the mechanical maintenance team in the installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. The candidate will work under the supervision of skilled mechanics and technicians and support routine maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist mechanics and technicians in mechanical maintenance and repair activities.

- Assist in dismantling and assembling machinery, equipment, and mechanical components.

- Arrange and handle mechanical tools, spare parts, materials, and equipment.

- Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.

- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery and mechanical components.

- Assist in fitting, alignment, drilling, cutting, grinding, and basic fabrication work as required.

- Support technicians during installation and replacement of mechanical parts.

- Report unusual sounds, leakage, wear, damage, or other equipment abnormalities to the supervisor.

- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.

- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company rules.





- Perform other mechanical maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills

- Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.

- Ability to use basic hand tools such as spanners, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers.

- Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and fitting work.

- Physically fit and comfortable working in an industrial/factory environment.

- Good teamwork and ability to follow instructions.

- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

- Safety-conscious and disciplined.

Qualification & Experience

- Qualification: 8th/10th/12th Pass; ITI (Fitter/Mechanical) preferred.

- Experience: 0–2 years in mechanical maintenance, manufacturing, steel, engineering, or similar industries.

- Freshers with a willingness to learn may also be considered.

Working Conditions

- Factory/plant-based role.

- May require standing and walking for extended periods.

- May involve shift duties and physically demanding mechanical work.

- Must follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.

Pay: Up to ₹14,000.00 per month
