Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Welder / Fabricator to join our site execution team. In this role, you will handle structural fabrication, modification, and welding tasks required during the installation and commissioning of transformers, control panels, cable trays, and earthing systems across project sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Cable Tray & Structural Supports: Perform arc/MIG welding and fabrication for Mild Steel (MS) cable tray supports, brackets, hanging supports, and joints as per site layouts.
- Control Panel Mounting: Fabricate, assemble, and weld base frames, channel supports, and mounting structures for control panels and marshalling boxes.
- Earthing Systems: Weld GI and MS earthing flats, strips, and earth pit support structures ensuring solid mechanical and electrical bonding.
- Site Modifications & Repairs: Execute structural modifications, cutting, drilling, and fit-ups to match in office conditions and repair damaged supports or existing framework.




- Engineering Coordination: Work under the direction of the Control Panel Engineer/Technician to verify layout markings, maintain correct levels/alignments, and ensure weld quality.
- Safety & Equipment Maintenance: Comply with site safety protocols (hot work permits, PPE, fire safety) and ensure proper upkeep of welding machines, gas cutting sets, and grinding tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in manual metal arc welding (MMAW/SMAW) and gas cutting, preferably in electrical substations, industrial plant erection, or heavy fabrication.
- Education / Certification: ITI in Welder / Fitter trade or equivalent certified practical experience.
- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in MS welding, structural channel/angle cutting, grinding, and fit-up.
- Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and site marking.
- Experience with earthing strip welding and structural alignment.
- Work Readiness: Willingness to travel and work on project sites during transformer erection, testing, and commissioning phase
