What You'll Do

- Build features for AI-powered internal applications under guidance from senior engineers
- Write Python code for backend services, scripts, and API endpoints
- Assist with integrating LLM APIs (Bedrock, OpenAI, or similar) into existing applications
- Fix bugs, write unit tests, and participate in code reviews
- Learn to deploy and monitor services on AWS
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies
- Ask questions, pair with senior engineers, and build foundational AI engineering skills

Must-Have Skills

- Computer Science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, OOP concepts (from degree coursework)
- AI fundamentals – RAG, GenAI
- Python — able to write functions, classes, and basic scripts; comfortable debugging own code
- Web Development — understands how frontend and backend components communicate (through coursework or internship projects)
- Internship or academic project experience with any web framework (React, Flask, Django, etc.)
- Exposure to REST APIs (built or consumed one in a course project or internship)
- Any exposure to AWS or another cloud provider (course, certification, or personal project)
- Any exposure to calling an LLM API (personal project, hackathon, coursework)
- Git — comfortable with most used commands
- Problem Solving — able to break down a small, well-defined problem and code a solution
- Communication — able to explain their code and reasoning clearly

Good-to-Have Skills

- Basic DB knowledge
- Familiarity with Linux/command line basics
