Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

- Identify, evaluate, select, and develop reliable suppliers for custom and standard components.
- Source mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, optical, and fabricated components.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of new and existing suppliers.
- Support supplier audits and capability assessments.
- Build strong supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement.

Technical Procurement
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, GD&T;, and technical specifications from R&D; and engineering teams.
- Source specialized components such as:
- Precision linear motion systems
- Guides, ball screws, and actuators
- Machine vision cameras, lenses, and lighting
- LVDT, laser, and vision sensors
- PLCs, servo motors, and drives
- Machined frames and fabricated enclosures
- Computing hardware and control systems

- Provide technical procurement support and suggest value-engineering opportunities.

Cost Negotiation & Budget Management
- Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, payment terms, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct cost analysis and supplier benchmarking.
- Work with finance and project teams to manage procurement budgets.
- Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.

Supply Chain & Risk Management
- Prepare and issue RFQs, POs, and manage order acknowledgements.




- Track purchase orders and supplier deliveries to prevent production delays.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including long lead times and single-source dependencies.
- Support inventory optimization for critical components.

Quality & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to resolve incoming quality issues, rejections, and supplier non-conformances.
- Work with suppliers on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience as a Purchase Engineer, Sourcing Engineer, Procurement Engineer, or similar role.
- Experience in capital equipment, machine building, precision manufacturing, or industrial automation is preferred.
- Proven experience sourcing mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and optical components.
- Robust ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, GD&T;, and engineering specifications.
- Experience in supplier negotiation and commercial discussions.
- Good understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and supply chain coordination.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
