Role Overview

EXL is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President to lead its Transport & Logistics vertical. This leader will be responsible for driving business performance, operational excellence, client satisfaction, growth, and transformation across a portfolio of global transport and logistics clients.

The role will oversee large-scale operations spanning transportation, logistics, freight management, finance & accounting processes, customer service, and back-office operations. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of transportation ecosystems, logistics business models, BPO operations, and client relationship management, while delivering sustainable revenue growth and margin expansion.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities Business & P&L; Leadership

- Own the overall P&L;, revenue growth, profitability, and operational performance of the Transport & Logistics vertical.
- Drive strategic planning, business reviews, margin improvement initiatives, and long-term growth plans.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, cross-sell, and transformation across existing accounts.
- Develop and execute account strategies aligned with client business objectives.

Operations Leadership
- Lead large, multi-location teams supporting transportation and logistics clients.
- Oversee operations across functions such as:

- Freight Operations
- Order Entry & Freight Documentation
- Transportation Management Support
- Freight Audit & Payment
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable




- Billing & Cash Application
- Customer Service & Back-Office Operations
- Logistics Analytics and Business Support Functions
- Drive operational excellence through productivity, quality, compliance, and customer experience initiatives.

People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a leadership team consisting of AVPs, Senior Managers, and functional leaders.
- Build a high-performance and client-centric culture.
- Drive succession planning, leadership development, and talent retention initiatives.

Industry & Domain Leadership
- Serve as a subject matter leader within the Transport & Logistics domain.
- Maintain understanding of logistics operating models including LTL, Truckload, Brokerage, 3PL, Freight Audit & Payment, Transportation Management Systems, and supply chain workflows.
- Support solutioning, capability development, and new business pursuits.

Qualifications:

Desired Experience

- 15+ years of experience in Operations, BPO, Shared Services, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or related industries.
- Proven leadership of large-scale operations with direct P&L; accountability.
- Experience managing global clients and executive stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of transportation and logistics business processes.
- Demonstrated success in business transformation, automation, and growth initiatives.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams across multiple delivery centers.
- Solid commercial acumen and contract management experience.
