Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor – Extrusion to manage and monitor extrusion operations for our chemical/polymer/plastics manufacturing plant, with specific expertise in Tube Extrusion. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring smooth production, maintaining process parameters, achieving quality standards, minimizing wastage and troubleshooting extrusion-related issues.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma in Plastic Processing, preferably from CIPET.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor extrusion machines as per SOPs and approved process parameters.
- Handle machine start-up, shutdown and changeover activities.
- Set up and monitor extruders, dies, feeders, cooling systems, take-off units and associated equipment.
- Ensure correct raw material loading and feeding.
- Monitor critical parameters including temperature, pressure, screw RPM, feed rate, line speed and output.
- Monitor product dimensions, appearance, quality and process consistency.
- Identify process deviations and take appropriate corrective action.
- Troubleshoot extrusion issues such as die build-up, melt fracture, surging, poor dispersion, dimensional variation and overheating.
- Carry out routine machine adjustments to maintain process stability.




- Perform screen/filter changes, die cleaning and other authorized operating activities.
- Identify abnormalities such as unusual noise, vibration, pressure fluctuations, poor output and product defects.
- Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance teams for troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Minimize material wastage and maintain efficient production operations.
- Maintain production records including quantity, rejection, downtime and process parameters.
- Ensure adherence to PPE, LOTO, machine safety and other EHS requirements.
- Maintain 5S, housekeeping and cleanliness in the extrusion area.
- Conduct proper shift handovers and communicate machine/process-related issues.
- Follow batch/production instructions and quality specifications with a focus on zero-defect production.

- Good understanding of extrusion machinery, dies, feeders, cooling and take-off systems.
- Strong process monitoring and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of polymer/plastic processing.
- Ability to maintain production quality and process consistency.
- Positive understanding of EHS, PPE, LOTO and 5S practices.
- Strong problem-solving and machine-handling abilities.
