WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience. You own the design of real parts: surfaces, details, materials, and finishes. You'll work on concepts, CAD, physical prototypes, and CMF, and take your parts through to tooling.

Develop concepts through sketch, CAD and physical model, and take them into detail.
Work inside mechanical constraints, and negotiate them where the design demands it.
Defend your choices in design review.

Something you designed has been manufactured, at any volume.
~2+ years in industrial or product design.
~ Solid surfacing CAD — {Rhino, Alias, Fusion or SolidWorks}.
~ Nice to have: appliance or consumer hardware experience, workshop and model-making skills, rendering.
