Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Director Trainee to support the Director across various stages of production, including pre-production, on-set execution, and post-production coordination.
This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone passionate about filmmaking and interested in understanding the end-to-end production process.
The trainee will work closely with the Director and production teams, gaining practical exposure to fast-paced, on-ground production environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Production Support
- Assist the Director and team with script breakdowns, storyboards, and creative planning.
- Support in preparing shot lists, call sheets, schedules, and production timelines.
- Coordinate with production, casting, location, art, styling, and camera teams as required.
- Assist in preparing creative decks, moodboards, and visual references.
- Help ensure all departments are aligned on creative and logistical requirements.
2. On-Set Support
- Assist the Director and AD team during shoots and on-ground production.
- Support in managing daily shoot schedules and tracking shot progress.
- Coordinate with camera, lighting, art, styling, sound, and talent teams.
- Assist during blocking, rehearsals, and scene preparation.
- Support the team with real-time coordination and on-set problem-solving.
- Help maintain continuity and track scene coverage.
3. Communication & Coordination
- Act as a support bridge between the Director, AD team, and various crew members.
- Ensure instructions and creative inputs are communicated clearly to relevant teams.
- Assist with crew briefings and keep teams updated on shot progress.
- Help maintain discipline, structure, and efficiency on set.

Post-Production Support
- Assist in coordinating with editors and post-production teams.
- Track edits, feedback, reviews, and approval timelines.
- Maintain follow-ups with relevant teams to ensure post-production schedules are met.
- Support the Director during review and final delivery stages.
5. Documentation & Workflow Management
- Assist in maintaining production documents and daily shoot reports.
- Keep track of scripts, storyboards, call sheets, shot lists, and other production-related documents.
- Support production managers with scheduling and logistical coordination.
- Ensure assigned deliverables and follow-ups are completed within timelines.

- Prior internship or academic exposure to filmmaking, media, production, or related fields is a plus.
Learning Opportunity
During the 6-month tenure, the trainee will gain hands-on exposure to end-to-end production workflows, working closely with the Director, Assistant Directors, and production teams across pre-production, shoot execution, and post-production.
