R&D; ENGINEER – Furniture
Location : Changodar Ahmedabad

Responsibilities

Develop detailed furniture designs that combine functionality, aesthetics, and ergonomics.
Create and refine design concepts using CAD software and engineering principles.
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and schematics for manufacturing and assembly.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks.
Select appropriate materials and components for furniture based on performance, cost, and aesthetic criteria.
Evaluate and recommend current materials and technologies to enhance product design.
Oversee the creation of prototypes, conducting tests to validate design functionality, durability, and user comfort.
Analyse test results and make necessary design modifications to address performance issues.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective to produce.
Address any design or production issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Manage design projects from concept through production,



ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and project goals.
Resolve technical challenges and design issues creatively and efficiently.
Maintain comprehensive records of design iterations, testing results, and engineering decisions.
Prepare reports and documentation for design reviews, project updates, and compliance purposes.
Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of manufactured products to ensure quality and consistency.

Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in R&D;, product development, or design engineering, preferably within the furniture industry
Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Required Skills

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Fusion, ZW Cad, Pytha 3d) and other engineering design tools.
DFM & DFA proficiency is mandatory
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
