Introduction:
The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of fund
accounting services for a portfolio of investment funds within a fund
administration setting. The role includes end‑to‑end accountability for fund
financial reporting, governance, and client service, while managing day‑to‑day
accounting activities performed by the India team.
Key Responsibilities:
Fund Accounting Oversight
Maintain overall responsibility for accurate and timely delivery of NAVs,
management accounts, investor reporting, and statutory financial statements.
Review and sign off on key deliverables prepared by the senior fund
accountants / assistant managers.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and
regulatory requirements.
Team Management
Oversee day‑to‑day fund accounting activities performed by India team,
including bookkeeping, reconciliations, NAV calculations, and investor
allocations.
Set transparent expectations, timelines,
and quality standards and client
deliverables.
Review error logs, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement
initiatives with India teams.
Provide technical guidance, feedback, and training to India team preparers
and reviewers.
Coordinate workload planning and capacity management with India managers.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary contact for CSC and clients on fund accounting matters.
Proactively manage client expectations regarding timelines, deliverables, and
issues.
Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, depositaries, and other service
providers.
Lead discussions on accounting matters, system changes, and service
enhancements.
Governance & Controls
Maintain solid oversight of internal controls, checklists, and review
frameworks.
Ensure issues are escalated appropriately and resolved within agreed
timelines.
