Job Description

Sample Handling & Processing
Receive, verify, label, and log clinical specimens in accordance with SOPs.
Perform nucleic acid extraction (DNA/RNA) using manual or automated methods.
Ensure proper storage and tracking of samples and extracted nucleic acids.

Molecular Testing
Perform RT-PCR, PCR, and related molecular assays as per validated protocols.
Prepare master mixes, reagents, and controls with contamination-free practices.
Run instruments (thermal cyclers,



real-time PCR systems) and monitor assay performance.

Quality Control & Compliance
Follow internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assurance (EQA) procedures.
Maintain documentation: worksheets, run logs, temperature logs, and deviation reports.
Adhere to NABL/ISO 15189 guidelines and laboratory biosafety standards.

Result Handling & Reporting Support
Perform preliminary data analysis and flag invalid or failed runs.
Communicate test status to supervisors and assist in result verification processes.
Ensure timely turnaround time (TAT) for routine and urgent samples.

Laboratory Maintenance & Biosafety
Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and PCR workflow segregation (pre-PCR/post-PCR).
Perform routine calibration checks and basic equipment troubleshooting.
Dispose of biomedical waste as per regulatory guidelines.
