WSP's Global Capability Center (GCC) India is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support the US Earth & Workplace business.
This position will serve as a technical delivery resource supporting multidisciplinary environmental, mining, remediation, and/or civil infrastructure projects across the United States. The role is focused on geotechnical engineering analyses, design support, numerical modeling, report preparation, and digital delivery, working closely with US-based geotechnical, environmental, hydrogeological, mining, or remediation teams. The candidate will work with field data collected by US teams and provide technical interpretation, modeling, design support, documentation, and QA/QC services.
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical engineering analyses utilizing information from field investigations conducted by US-based teams.
- Interpret geotechnical investigations, laboratory testing results, subsurface data, geologic mapping, and groundwater information.
- Develop engineering recommendations related to settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability,
earth pressures, seepage, liquefaction, ground improvement and geo hazards.
- Assist with design and evaluation of deep and shallow foundations, retaining structures, earth retaining systems, embankments, dams, levees, and waste containment facilities.
- Perform and review slope stability analyses, seepage analyses, settlement analyses, consolidation analyses, earthworks evaluations, ground improvement studies, foundation and geohazard analyses.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, including development of design calculations, engineering specifications, and design packages. Develop geotechnical appendices for environmental reports. Produce engineering figures, cross-sections, and drawings.
- Develop subsurface models, create borehole logs, and conduct geotechnical QA/QC Reviews.
