What you’ll do:
The primary responsibility of this role is to design, simulate, develop, and validate high-power power electronic systems, including DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, and inverters. The role involves end-to-end hardware development, circuit design and analysis, product verification, standards compliance, and integration of power electronic solutions into larger electrical systems while meeting customer performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
Core Design & Development
Design and develop high-power power electronic systems, including converters and inverters. Design AC-DC, DC-DC, and inverter topologies for various applications. Select and evaluate power semiconductor devices, gate drivers, modulation techniques, and output filters. Design high-frequency magnetic components such as transformers and inductors. Prepare detailed electrical schematics using computer-aided design and simulation tools.
Simulation & Analysis
Perform circuit simulations using tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or equivalent.
Conduct steady-state and transient analysis of power electronic circuits. Analyze analog and digital circuits for functionality and performance. Perform worst-case analysis, tolerance analysis, stress analysis, derating studies, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Hardware Development & Testing
Execute the complete hardware development lifecycle from requirements through qualification and certification. Develop, build, debug, and test power electronic hardware prototypes. Perform verification, validation, and qualification testing. Conduct root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective action implementation to improve product reliability.
