Job Description
The selected candidate will lead computational and experimental research to contribute in decarbonizationof Indian industrial glass melting:
- In Silico & AI Modelling: Utilize machine learning models and computational tools to design novel glass compositions, predict thermal behaviour, and simulate phase transitions.
- Synthesis & Melting: Batch, synthesize, and process sustainable glass compositions aimed at reducing industrial melting temperatures and carbon emissions.
- Characterization: Perform microstructural, thermal, and structural analyses using techniques such as DSC, XRD, spectroscopy, Vicker s hardness testing and electron microscopy.
- Data & Process Optimization: Analyse thermokinetic data to optimize glass durability, kinetic stability, and energy efficiency.
- Scientific Communication:
Write research reports, draft peer-reviewed manuscripts, and document project milestones. Communicating with the industrial & academic partners.
Minimum Eligibility
- M.Sc. Physics or M.Sc. Chemistry (with specialization/interest in materials)/ M.Sc. Materials Science/ B.Tech. in Ceramic Technology or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.
- GATE or NET qualification will be preferred.
- Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 32 years on the last date of advertisement.
- Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxed up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped categories, as per Government rules.
Note
The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
