Senior Bookkeeper — Canadian Accounts (QuickBooks Online & Desktop)

Progress Group is a Canadian accounting practice building out its bookkeeping operations in Ahmedabad. We're looking for an experienced bookkeeper to take real ownership of a book of Canadian client files and work directly alongside our team in Canada.

This is a senior seat, not a data-entry role. You'll be trusted to run files independently, prepare returns, and review the work of others.

What you'll do
- Handle full-cycle bookkeeping for Canadian clients in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns
- Prepare financial statements for review by our Canadian accounting team
- Review work prepared by junior team members and act as the escalation point on files
- Complete bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations
- Work directly with our Canada-based team during overlapping hours

What we're looking for
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience with demonstrated ability to run client files independently
- Hands-on experience in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop




- Direct experience with Canadian bookkeeping — Canadian chart of accounts, CRA compliance, and GST/HST
- Experience preparing financial statements to handoff standard
- Strong written and spoken English
- Ability to reliably work a 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST shift
- Based in Ahmedabad, or willing to relocate

Nice to have
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Prior experience at a Canadian accounting firm, or at an outsourcing provider serving Canadian clients
- Exposure to Canadian payroll

The shift, stated plainly

Our working hours are 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST so that you overlap with our Canadian team through their business day. This is a genuine requirement of the role, not a preference. Please only apply if this schedule works for you long-term.

What we offer
- ₹50,000 – ₹70,000 per month, with the upper end available for candidates with robust Canadian domain experience
