Job Summary

Mechanical Design Engineer. Location: Ahmedabad. Educational Qualification: ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Required Experience: 2-5 Years. Gender: Male.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed mechanical fabrication drawings for LT/HT electrical panels, including PCC, MCC, APFC, and other panel types.
- Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sheet metal development drawings, and cutting lists.
- Coordinate with the Electrical Design team to finalize panel dimensions, component layouts, and clearances.
- Prepare and release Bills of Materials (BOM) for sheet metal, hardware, and accessories.
- Provide technical support to the production and fabrication teams by resolving design-related issues.
- Ensure all drawings comply with customer specifications and applicable IS/IEC standards.
- Implement design revisions based on customer or site feedback.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control for all engineering drawings.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) - Mandatory.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor,



or Pro-E - Preferred.
- Robust understanding of sheet metal design, development, and fabrication.
- Knowledge of GI, CRCA, and Aluminum sheet metal properties and standard gauges.
- Experience in electrical panel enclosure design, including IP ratings, gasket arrangements, cable entries, and gland plates.
- Ability to prepare fabrication drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, and cutting lists.
- Knowledge of IS and IEC standards related to electrical panel enclosures.
- Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, bending, and powder coating processes is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of electrical panel layouts, component clearances, busbars, MCCBs, contactors, and terminal blocks.
Preferred Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting for electrical panel manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience with LT/HT panel manufacturing companies will be preferred.
