Roles and Responsibilities
- Design of steel structure, structure design calculation, sheet metal design, selection of Bough out parts like slew bearing, cylinder, hydraulic gearbox, components etc.,
- Design and develop heavy mechanical sub-assemblies for off-road/ construction equipment including welded structures, machined components and sheet metal assemblies.
- Analytical stress calculations of load bearing members.
- Design of weld joints and pin connections.
- Cost reduction, VA-VE, Weight reduction / optimization of steel structures.
- Support prototype development and validation to ensure design performance and integrity.
- Provide engineering support to manufacture and resolve design-related production issues.




- Providing design solutions for fields failures and manufacturing issues. Field failure analysis, root cause analysis of concrete equipment.
- Develop engineering design concepts based on functional requirements, take full ownership of assigned tasks from concept refinement through detailed design.
- Design of Equipment layout.
- Basic understanding of heavy equipment mobile hydraulics system, circuit and Hydraulic routings.
- Study and validate alternates for bought out items, import substitution.
- Preparation of 3D models and release of drawing for manufacturing.
- Activities specified as part of the KPIs with relevant targets and weightages shall be performed and recorded on PMS tool/data sources connected to the KPIs periodically.
- Any other activities unspecified and which is not part of the above list shall be performed as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
